RatingStar beta: iTunes Rating and Rating Back-up Utility Uploaded

Automatic rating and rating back-up application for iTunes. Automatically assign song ratings based on number of times played, skipped and play frequency. Alternatively back-up your iTunes song ratings to csv file or to the "group" mp3 tag of each song.

See the downloads section to your free beta copy. Please send any feedback to will@ims.za.net. Currently no help is incluced in the application, but the interface should be self explanatory. Use this software at your own risk.

IMPORTANT TIP: First make a back-up of you song ratings before starting to play with the auto-rating system!

Thunderbird Contacts Export for WM 6 Application Added

This freeware application allows you to quickly export contacts from WM6 into a comma separated file (csv) for easy import into Mozilla Thunderbird 2.
I created this application for 2 reasons:
1. I could not find a decent contacts export application for WM6.
Those I did find required online sign-up with a sync site or involved multiple steps to do the export.
2. Once I exported contacts (in csv format) for the purpose of
importing it to Thunderbird, I found that matching the columns in
Thunderbird to be a nightmare process which discouraged me completely.

I was just looking to copy all my WM6 contacts to Thunderbird. Yes, I know that syncing would be a better solution, but I found that once you have the bulk of your contacts in Thunderbird it is easy to maintain current and add new contacts.

iTunes Auto-Rating & Rating Backup Application

I m in the process of developing an auto-rating Windows based application for iTunes. The application will rate your music based on how often you ve listened and skipped a particular song. It will include options to refine the rating process.

Another feature will be the ability to back-up and restore song ratings in various ways. I ve found in the past when I move to a new computer or reformat my computer that all my iTunes song ratings have disappeared. This inspired me to develop an easy way to backup these ratings.

If you library consists of thousands of songs, you do not want to go through all of it to rate it. Thus the combination of the above 2 features will allow you to rate unrated songs and to back up your existing ratings.

I�m also looking at adding an Album rating feature based on a post by tunequest on iforums. And maybe also an album/track lookup that will complete missing album track count and track number information for songs. This will allow album ratings to be more accurate.
